Despite being a weak draft class the Knicks can make use of the picks they have to better benefit the team

*(ED’s NOTE: This article was written before the Knicks traded up with the Utah Jazz for the 23rd pick. Keep in mind, while the opinion still stands on the prospects I’ve watched things are always subject to change.)

It is finally the NBA Draft!

Basketball hasn’t been gone for too long. The NBA Finals was a month ago and since then it has been relatively quiet with noises here and there such as teams doing their due diligence on the draft prospects, determining when the 2020–2021 NBA season should start, when the trade period should open, and how soon can free agency begin. …

Experience of launch consoles has taught me important lessons of waiting and seeing what happens before purchasing

This week both the Microsoft Xbox Series X and the Sony PlayStation 5 consoles will be released to the world. After much anticipation and intrigue as to what the next generation of consoles will bring to the fold, the public can learn those answers themselves. Everybody is extremely hyped for this week.

Well…everybody except me I guess.

As the old guy who has been playing video games since the age of three, I’ve learned that it is important to wait and see before rushing to buy a brand new video game console. It doesn’t mean that I will never purchase these consoles in the future but I am in no hurry to do so now. There are several reasons why that I will explain to you all. Who knows? You might gain some perspective from this. …

Quarterback prospects like Daniel Jones, Sam Darnold, and Dwayne Haskins are struggling mainly due to a common flaw that is noticeable but often ignored

Daniel Jones, Sam Darnold, and Dwayne Haskins are all having poor seasons.

This is not a good look for young quarterbacks who are designated to carry their franchises going forward. If they cannot display any semblance of promise or growth then their organizations are going to have big problems down the road. The quarterback is the most important position on a football team. They are the ones who teams are supposed to rally behind and elevate the offense whenever they are on the field. The best quarterbacks are the ones who not only know the ins and outs of the playbook but also find ways to win. …

The unexpected matchup between the Heat and Lakers makes for an interesting Finals showcase in an interesting Finals scenario

It’s finally here!

The 2020 NBA Finals is set to premiere tonight at 9PM in the Orlando Bubble! Credit to the league for doing everything possible to ensure the safety of the players and getting to this point without any setbacks. As I mentioned before, I can be the first to admit that I was wrong on the matter. My concerns were valid but luckily nothing became awry since the NBA restart.

So now we can concentrate on the most exciting basketball game of the year.

South Beach Finesse

The Miami Heat came in as the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference and trounced all the top competitors including the Milwaukee Bucks and the Boston Celtics. They were considered underdogs throughout the postseason and somehow rose above the odds. Credit to head coach Erik Spoelstra, superstar Jimmy Butler, rising All Star Bam Adebayo, and team president Pat Riley for putting together a talented squad that can make a ruckus in the league. Nobody really expected the Heat to come out on top the way they did but here we are. …

The controversy surrounding Nintendo’s decision to make Super Mario 3D All Stars a limited exclusive for both digital and physical releases has me concerned on how they view the consumer and what it could potentially mean for the gaming industry

Super Mario 3D All Stars finally releases today to much fanfare from gamers everywhere. It’s Mario so you know it’s going to be good. I mean that’s a given. Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy were the premiere 3D platformers of their time with Mario 64 kicking off the era of 3D gaming while Sunshine and Galaxy found unique ways to expand on said 3D gaming formula. I played these games when they initially came out and would like to soon have a copy and play these games again for my amusement.

One problem: I don’t own a Nintendo Switch. Also they are hard to come by nowadays due to the shortages during the COVID-19 Global Pandemic. Oh and the ones available are freakishly expensive. To add to insult to injury, 3D All Stars happens to be a limited time release. …

One of the Conference Finals is here while the other is still developing so let’s break down the scenarios of the remaining teams

Hello!

It’s been a while. I couldn’t get the chance to do one of these last time due to an important prior engagement but I’m free now we can continue to discuss the NBA Playoffs in the Orlando Bubble.

Last time I did a proper analysis we were on the precipice of the Conference Semifinals. A lot has happened since then and we are now entering the Conference Finals (for three of these teams anyway). It’s been a strange road to get here. The teams I initially thought were pretenders (Denver Nuggets) turned out to be more talented than I thought and I can admit I was wrong. …

With all major sporting events happening right now what does this mean for the resurgence of the fight for civil rights in America?

I changed and rewrote this opinion piece several times. Initially I wanted to put this article out as far back as July when we were underway with the return of sports in the United States. I initially wanted to dissect on how things have changed since the mass resurgence of the Black Lives Matter Movement. I wanted to analyze and give a perspective on how each of the major sports leagues in America have handled the responses and if they were serious about keeping the masses informed on what’s going on and if there’s any major changes in the approach of how the leagues have treated not only Black people but towards other races and genders as well. I kept changing the article because recent events kept transpiring and it was difficult to parse my thoughts into a single piece when so much was going on. …

The Nets hiring of Steve Nash brings a lot of questions about player influence in the front office, the nature of hiring Black coaches in the NBA, and the stakes of winning a title in New York

The NBA world received a shakeup this morning when news broke from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski that Steve Nash — Hall of Fame point guard who retired in 2015 — just signed a contract with the Brooklyn Nets to become the next head coach of the team.

Everyone collectively lost their minds. This hire came out of nowhere. Nash was always known as one of the greatest point guards to have ever played the game. He was a two time MVP, eight time NBA All Star, three time NBA First Team, and five time NBA assists leader. He is often touted as one of the most brilliant minds in basketball. He served as a player development consultant for the Golden State Warriors during their championship years. …

It’s been over 20 years since the last entry in the “Chrono” series and it is high time that Square Enix revisits this classic game series but with a modern twist

The following article must have this soundtrack playing in the background and if you refuse to do this, you are reading this thing wrong.

This year in August, gamers everywhere celebrate the 20th anniversary of North American release of Chrono Cross, one of the most critically acclaimed games ever and one of the greatest video games of all time. When this game was released in August 15, 2000, it was one of the “swan song” games on the original PlayStation console. The game was a sequel to another classic game, Chrono Trigger. Like that game, it was completely different than any other RPG at the time. The gameplay, the soundtrack, the graphics, and the art style set itself apart from other RPG series at the time such as Dragon Quest and Square Enix’s own Final Fantasy. …

It’s officially the NBA Playoffs and I break down what I’ve seen so far this postseason

Greetings folks! We have officially gone through the first week of the NBA Playoffs 2020 in the Orlando Bubble! Hurray!

It has been an interesting week so far. The teams most people expected to get to the postseason completed their seeding and we are underway on witnessing the first NBA postseason in a global pandemic. That’s not exactly something that should be celebratory but it is something that none of us would ever expect in our lifetime. So far, most of the games have been extremely entertaining with a couple disappointments. …
